I’ve been reading Marcus Garveys book this past week. He touched on character and it really made me stop and think. Thought I’d share some wisdom fom his book with you…
“Men and women who want to be of use to themselves and humanity must have good character. Good character means the demonstration of the kind of behavior that meets the moral perception of civilization.”
“Never borrow money unless you intend to give it back. Pay it back as quickly as you can. If you use excuses when you should be paying those that you are obligated to, they will think you are a trickster. Even though you subsequently will pay them they will be loath to trust you a second time. Even if you have to make sacrifices pay your depth.”
“God and Nature first made us what we are, and then out of our own created genius we make ourselves what we want to be. Follow always that great law. Let the sky and God be our limit and Eternity our measurement.”
He’s was a deep man. I’m greatful that he was able to share his knowledge with others before he passed.
Tip of the day: “It is a good policy to keep a good honorable name. People will trust you on a good name.” -Marcus Garvey
