When was the last time you enjoyed a moment and said to yourself I’m happy in this moment? This week was incredible. My birthday was perfect. Usually when I’m having a good day I try to just not say it out loud because I always think that something will go wrong when I do, but not this time. I smiled all day and got lots of love. I even saw a rainbow and everyone knows how much I love to see a rainbow. I just finally said to myself “you deserve everything and every blessing that comes your way.” Hands down on of the best days of my life!

This weekend will be my birthday weekend so we will catch up next week with the cooking segment. I’m so grateful for the people that want to celebrate me on my birthday. I’ve been having a fun week with a couple more surprises to come;). Hope you guys have a great weekend. I’ll leave you with a couple snapshots.:)

As the years pass by, I know for sure that my Aunt Ruth will never forget my birthday and always make a point to make it special. I love chatting with her alone because she’s such a wise e woman. When I was younger she use to dress with so much class and style and sometimes I would stare at her and think she acts like a princess (in a good way). She also was very bold and daring and never cared what others thought of her. I remember when she came over with all her hair cut off. I didn’t believe it. She rocked that hair and it was beautiful. She could always pull anything off.
My dad moved to Belize when I was 14. My Aunt had moved away and returned around the time he left. I was trying to find myself and in the mist of that not listening to my mother. Whenever my Aunt came around it’s almost like I never wanted to disappoint her. I always wanted to be the best because I never wanted her to look down at me, so I thought. Turns out she the total opposite. She’s stern, but so loving and compassionate. She believes in God but never judges you for making mistakes. You’d think that she doesn’t have time to listen but offers the best advice. I look at her as a very balanced person. You can see a light of happiness in her eyes because she doesn’t put people down, gossip, or judge you. She prays for me even when I don’t tell her my problems because she knows when something isn’t right.
My Aunt has always believed in me although I know I’ve done things to disappoint her. Every time I see her she makes sure to tell me how proud of me she is. I always seem to cry. I’m glad I have someone in my life like her because God knows I needed all the prayers especially hers. Hope she reads this. I love and thank God for my Aunt Ruth!

This weekend was pretty laid back for me. I love three day weekends and I’ve made it a tradition to grill whenever they come around, so I plan on throwing some fish and shrimp on the grill and enjoying my family. Hope you guys are have a great day…

I feel this workout segment fading away…. I started it because I’d get e-mails about my workout routine and how to maintain my weight. Well I started this and people want to ask, complain but don’t want to put in the work. I’d like to equivalent this to everyday life. When there is something I want to do I just do it. I don’t make excuses. I defiantly won’t complain and cry about it if I chose not to do something about it.
I put away the scale, exercise more and watch what I put in my mouth. I just want to feel good about myself from my heart, to my health. When I workout I don’t think about anything. All my problems disappear and I’m focused on only me at that moment and while focusing I’m doing something to better myself. I don’t have an extra hour to gossip on the phone, every part of my day needs to be accounted for. No time for negativity around here. It’s all productive!
Lay your work out gear on the chair so you can wake up and workout. Even if it’s 30 minutes before or after work, you need to just do it at least twice a week. You’ll have a better day, a better week, a better life.
Polka dots are a great way to incorporate a little print into your fall wardrobe. Leather is a big trend this season and I think if you buy the right pieces (in real leather) it will repeat itself. Although I’ve splurged on leather pants, a top and a dress, this skirt was a bit too trendy for me. I wanted to try it out so I bought this one from F21 for $29 and I actually like it.
Tip of the day: Before you make a huge purchase ($200 and up) test the waters (make sure you love it) first if you aren’t to sure about a piece you want to add to your wardrobe.

People always ask me how did I get into styling. Although I love doing hair and make great money, fashion is my passion. I just jumped into it three years ago and it’s the most satisfying feeling when my clients love every item I pick. Some of my clients have a $1000 budget and some have a $5000 budget, however they are always amazed with how many items I can mix with high and low priced clothes which all comes together for a rich look.
Although great clothing is nice the main thing about fashion is that confidence is your best piece (accessory). I’m happy that I don’t have to be confined to one thing being that I work for myself so I just dress for how I’m feeling that day. If you feel good in what you have on it does not matter what anyone thinks. It’s all fun.
If you want to pursue something new just do it. There will always be some people that won’t like it and some that will. You can’t please everyone. Once you get past that and focus on you and your passion, skies the limit.
Tip: Bright colors add a statement to any look:).
