Just because you can doesn’t mean you have to.
Christmas is almost here and around the holiday’s if you don’t have much family you can’t help but feel a little lonely sometimes. I get lots of emails asking me “how do you get over someone hurting you and escape the feeling of loneliness?” Although I’m grateful that these people would come to me in their sad time, sometimes I can’t help but have compassion and be saddened as well. In addition you can be in a room full of people and still feel lonely.
When I feel lonely I pray. I continuously ask God throughout the day to remove this uninhabited feeling from my heart. I then try to think of all the positive things that are going on in my life. When I can’t think of anything positive, I redirect my focus on someone in a worse situation than me and see how I can help. Sometimes you just need to pray and go to sleep and when you wake up things are better because God woke you up to see another beautiful day! Things get better day by day. They have to especially when you aren’t a malicious person (if you are look within and change). I promise you’ll be ok. Just keep a good heart and never turn bitter because of your circumstances.:)
Tip of the day: Just take things one day at a time.

I wonder?
Sequins
I’ve been extremely busy lately so I haven’t had time to do much. I wore this to a casual Christmas party. I wore jeans because they weren’t too fussy, but the sequins cardigan added a little pizzazz that’s always needed around the holidays…
Tip of the day: Add a unique touch of sequins to your wardrobe…
Wearing: Vintage cardigan, Old Navy rock star skinnies, Sergio Rossi Pumps, Chanel Bag.

I think you are truly something special…
Knowing your environment
Where I’m from there are certain things and standards that you learn to live by. Depending on the environment you were raised in there is a difference on the things you’ve picked up, but this doesn’t make one less significant than the other. I think there are things that the inner city can teach you that are priceless. I respected them enough to live by them. Things are defiantly not the same by a long shot. I’m glad I was able to experience it.
Everyone doesn’t learn from their experiences nor do they try to improve their surroundings in view of the fact that they become a product of their environment. I really can’t blame them I’ve just have always been a dreamer. I’ve always been conscious of the way I grew up that’s why I make sure my kids have better than I did. I don’t want them to make the same mistakes. I make sure to teach them these things that only where I came from can teach you.
Tip of the day: I consider myself blessed to know both sides of the coin…

Hi baby…
Relationships
Relationships can be tough sometimes and you won’t always agree on everything, but once you have a mutual respect for one another and the good outweighs the bad you are winning. Sometimes my husband can do things that drives me crazy (I’m sure I drive him crazy as well), but ultimately I know that I’m in love with him and he’s the guy God made just for me.
Guys think differently from women and sometimes their sensitivity level is zero so it’s our job to make sure that we communicate the things that bother us, but not in a nagging way. Men tend to get turned off when we complain so try to pick a calm time when the two of you are relaxing to discuss the things that bother you about one another. If you are both in love with each other it’s always worth working it out.
Tip of the day: It’s always great in the beginning but can you withstand the test of time…

If I had one wish…
When you make a commitment to someone you should stick to it, weather it be a committed relationship, marriage, a promise should never be broken unless it’s out of your control. I’ve noticed people “pretend” like they are committed just for them to get what they want and that isn’t right. When things are going good in any of our lives you’ll notice everyone wants to be around, but when they think you have fallen or secretly want you to fall (because they never was there for you in the first place) they disappear, then when all is good they are making a u-turn trying to come back in your life…I’m so glad that God has planned my life the way he did. I really don’t regret anything.
If I am committed to you I’m there 100%. I’m committed to God first, my marriage, my family, friends and my website because I’m passionate about these things. I’ve learned that loyalty is one of the best traits a person can have. When a person is dedicated this means through good or bad they’ll always have your back and be true to you. Basically what I’m saying is you can’t be committed to anything or anyone if you aren’t loyal.
Tip of the day: Make sure your commitment is deserving.

I chose quality over quantity….
My best friend in the entire world planned the perfect night for my birthday. I’ve known her for 16 years and we’ve had our spats, but she’s one of most treasured relationship’s that I have in my life. I really consider her to be the sister that I never had because no matter what ever happened between us or what anyone says we know each others hearts.
When I’m down it’s like she has a radar and always seems to come through right when I need her. She one of the angels in my life. I love her:).

Feeling pretty good….

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned on my fall must haves post that you needed a long sleeve dress to wear with tights and booties? Here’s an example of what I was speaking of. I was warm yet still stylish all day and the weather here was 62*. As the night approached I put on a coat with a scarf and I was set.
I know it seems scary to try new things (in general) with fashion, but as you learn to step out of the box picking out things that you never would have worn will only get easier. Pick out a piece in your closet that you love and try wearing something with it that you normally wouldn’t and working around that piece. Trust me it’ll be fun. Don’t forget the confidence and everything else should be a breeze after that.
Tip of the day: Next on the list is the perfect leather jacket…

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
How can you make something so big seem so small…

Thanks to everyone for the love and prayers.
The last couple of years have been up and down for me. I’ve lost so many people that I thought were my friends (including family) and it’s my fault because I prayed for it. I wanted God to remove all the deceitful people from me and my husbands lives and boy did it hurt, but life must go on.
When I have a problem and I have to face the world I never wear my problems on my shoulders. I smile on the outside even if I’m crying on the inside. This is mainly because I don’t want to place my burden on anyone, I don’t want to take my frustrations out on anyone and lastly I don’t want anyone asking me what’s wrong. What helps me smile is I pray to myself all day and I start to feel comfort knowing that everything happens for a reason. I know I do unto others as I would have them to unto me.
Remember to just smile when you are down and especially don’t walk around taking things out on others and having an attitude because something went wrong in your life. Learn to deal with your problems so you can face the world with a smile. This is what keeps me humble because when you are looking in other people’s lives with admiration, you have no idea what they are going through so why should anyone front and act like their life is perfect(?). We ALL HAVE PROBLEMS…at some point.
Tip of the day: Pray for God to remove all the leaves in your life…

trying not to question…

Life has been so busy for me. With that being said, I haven’t taken the time like I normally do to talk to God and have him direct me in the right path. A lot of things have gone on in my life in the past couple of years good and bad, but I feel like the bad things have been so hurtful that it feels like I got stabbed each time. I’m a strong person, but I feel like there is something out there trying to break me. Maybe it’s my karma because I haven’t done everything perfect in my life, but what I will say is that I strive everyday to be the best person I can be, I don’t judge anyone, I pray for others and help in anyway that I can(even overextending myself). I write on my blog when there are days I don’t feel like writing because I don’t want to complain. I feel like people have depended on me sometimes to be their strength (including my readers) and that’s what keeps me going as far as this blog and I strive in life because of my family. I’m all they have so I can’t ever give up. I just need to get back in prayer and one with God for Him to direct all of my decisions. I need Him to be my strength even when I feel like I have no more.

How can you not love someone that will risk everything for YOU…
I live my life to influence others not to impress them. People get caught up in the facade of thinking that others will like them or put them on a certain pedestal because of their financial status when it should never the case.
Don’t let your eyes do the thinking. Judging someone based on what you see is a reflection of your own value system. Sure, first impressions are important but don’t let what your eyes see do all the thinking for you. It’s not fair nor is it really logical to judge someone based on what they’re wearing or the purse they’re carrying because your perception of them is based on material things that are tangible. You can’t get to know someone with your eyes, you should get to know them through personal interactions. No human being should be measured by the things they own but rather they should be valued by the things they do for others and the standards they live their life by. What a person has doesn’t merit their worth. It’s simply things that they’ve obtained. If you find yourself easily fascinated by how a person looks or the material things they own, you’re not trusting your own heart to feel what a person is about. Don’t get caught up!
If someone likes you for the things you do have that person is not the type of person you should be keeping company with anyway. So don’t get down because you feel like you don’t have certain things that society says you should have. Like I always say let your smile and your personality shine and the rest will come to you. I would live in a car as long as I had my family and my dignity. All that I am and all that I strive to be makes me priceless. I’m priceless because I can’t be summarized by the things I have. I’m priceless because I’m the daughter of a King. We all are!
Tip of the day: The beauty within is more valuable to you than anything you can purchase.

Why I love it so much…

BEFORE
I’ve been a fan of the CHI Strightner for a while now but ever since the buzz about titanium flat irons started, I’ve been dying to try them. Misikko.com has salon grade products and they have everything from titanium flat irons to ceramic heated blow dryers. When they sent me over their new HANA Titanium flat irons I couldn’t wait to test them out!
I’ve been using them on my hair (as well as my clients) for the past month and when I first tried them I was instantly hooked. They glided well over my hair and they are extremely light weight. The length of the flat irons are shorter than others so it’s easier to handle which makes them the best flat irons in my opinion. I let my friend try them and she’s also a hair stylist and she loved them. They provided the ultimate shine yet still had adequate enough heat to get my thick locks straightened without the worry of damaging my hair because they have a set temperature. The titanium plates flatten the hair cuticle down to reflect light, ultimately providing the perfect result for thick hair. I can’t wait to get my hands on the HANA HAIR DRYER because I’m sure they will have great results as well.
{before/after results} I pressed my roots and edges first.
