Confused? Pray…

Today is truly a day of mourning.  Not only has life been a major emotional roller coaster recently but to add to it there has been great tragedy and loss.  Tomorrow is not promised.

I’m so sad about what happened to those people in Haiti . I wish there was something I can do to help. Text “yele” to 501501 and you can donate five dollars and it will be charged to your bill. Hope you keep them in your prayers as I will.

And to add to everything we lost the very talented one and only Teddy Pendergrass.  I loved his music. Rest in peace, TP.  Definitely recommend checking out some of his hits to those of you who don’t remember.  Considering the mood, today I didn’t feel like getting dressed at all.  When feeling this way, wearing all black will never lead you wrong. Not only will it complement your mood but it adds a bit of swag. Black is always classy and can promote different attitudes.  It could be all gangster, elegant, classy, a sign of mourning or all of the above.  Take time out to pray for those less fortunate… God bless you.

Mix formal with casual…

One of the major keys to dressing in a major way is to always be comfortable.  When you are comfortable you can relax. You’ll find that most people try to get cute and you can tell they tried too hard because what they thought was the perfect fit is miserably uncomfortable…and you can tell.  Right? What if…you looked great and felt great too?!

Dressy and relaxed make a great unexpected combo. Pair a colorful fancy top with classic jeans and you have the perfect astonishing, cool look.  Not to mention, you’ll be ready for anything.  You now have the glamorous look of a beautiful flowing blouse with a very comfortable pair of jeans.  Effortlessly striking!

I’ve decided to invent my own dress code. How about you?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Wearing: Vertigo coat, Sweet raggs blouse, Tavertini Jeans, Giuseppe Zanotti booties, Chanel Handbag(one of my favorites)

Step out!

New Year’s Eve is a night-out to remember. That means it’s high time to shine…as if you really needed a reason. Don’t be afraid to be a little bold.  This is the one night where there are no holds barred, baby!

Slip on something sexy and step into the limelight! Do the unexpected. Find a way to express something about your personality and who you are in your attire. That way you will feel comfortable because although you are representing with style, you are still doing you.  When you express you, your confidence is like a magnetic field.

Make an entrance! It will surely be the start of an eye-catching evening (and year).  Who knows, you may be the next-trend setter for 2010.  If you are concerned that you don’t have it together…remember that you can’t go wrong with the “little black dress”.  You can add a splash of your favorite color or design pattern to give it just the right boost.

And don’t forget that it may be cold out so it’s just the right time to bust out that faux fur (or the real deal) for that elegant finish. Cheers!

Plaiditudes…

So here’s how it went down: I woke up, slapped on my favorite plaid dress and headed off to church.  I am so grateful today for even the little things.  Afterwards, I also wanted to get out and do a little fashion exploring and run some errands.

This dress is trendy but so comfy and is also one of those pieces that can be adorned to fit into next year’s winter style as well.  With pieces like this you don’t have to worry about going out of style.  Just change your accessories, shoes or handbag and it’s brand new all over again.

This dress is so easy and simple.  It has the versatility that allows you to wear anywhere.  Comfort is very important especially for the woman with things to do. 🙂

I love plaid in the winter because it can be soft yet still have all the colors of the season. Find a tailored one that fits you well . This is sure to be a frock that is ready to go as is!

Looking Up!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about why things happen. I decided to face the fact that things don’t happen by accident.  Every event in our lives is just a piece of what God is doing for us…His perfect plan.  Miracles happen, tragedies happen, we become stronger and better…Life continues.:)

We have to remember that life is a journey, not a destination.  It’s not why things happen (or don’t happen) that we need to focus on but how we deal with what comes our way.  Most importantly, we should always count our blessings and celebrate the blessing of life.

I’ve been a little sad (happy) to think that Jesus died for my sins and His birthday is coming up… WOW! What a beautiful sacrifice he made for all of us.  He was the ultimate example of love, grace, sacrifice, giving and we can’t forget FORGIVENESS.  I just want to celebrate!

In honor of the birth of Jesus Christ, me and the fam are gonna bake a cake for his special day and sing happy birthday and praise His name. God bless you all…

Mellow Out…

As you follow the major styles I bring to you, you will soon see that yellow is one of my favorite colors. A splash of color always brightens up the day. In my opinion, yellow is one of the most uplifting colors to add to your fashion forward fit.

Just as I predicted earlier, the L. A. weather is proven to be unpredictable yet again. It’s hard to believe that Christmas is less than a week away and it’s a heaping pre-winter 80 degrees out. Christmas barbeque anyone? 🙂

I am very grateful to say that I have finished all my Christmas shopping. What a relief! I have so much fun shopping that even when it is for someone else I’m still having fun. There is nothing more pleasing than seeing the joy and satisfaction of someone who opens a gift I give them and it’s so obvious that they love it! And I luv it! I put much thought and time in to picking just the right gift for each person. That’s what Christmas is all about; the gift of giving.

Being that yellow is one of my favorite wardrobe accents, be sure to look for more spectacular yellow ensembles in the future…:)

Holiday cheers!!

Movie Day!

Wearing: Bcbg Maxazria Faux Fur, Just Cavali Blouse, Citizen Of Humanity jeans, Jessica Simpson pumps,Christian Dior handbag.

Today I went to the El Capitan theatre with my family.  El Capitan is one of the oldest and most popular movie theatre’s in Hollywood. It was very crowded but well worth it. The kids loved sight seeing. They got to meet tons of different characters on Hollywood  Blvd.

Tip of the day: never wear a new pair of shoes until you’ve tested them out! My feet were burning sooo bad. Luckily, I had a pair of flats in the car so it all worked out.

Has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet?

Fearless???

fearless

I’ve had these tights for the past year. While examining my wardrobe I finally figured what would suit them well. I decided to get fearless. I’ve discovered that some styles just continue to repeat themselves.

I am learning to have an eye for good pieces that are good investments. These are the pieces that I can continue to use over time.  This way, I can appreciate what’s already in my closet rather than spending unnecessary money and time buying things that I may never wear.

This ensemble is a little edgy.  It’s quite alright to be daring and always confident!  It’s comfy and cute. I must say everyone needs a pair of leopard tights, the rest is up to you…  Have a good weekend. :J

Love the rain….

This is the best wool coat ever (in my opinion). I love the girly ruffles in the back and in the front all of the posh professionalism a double breasted pea coat can offer. Oh and you have to mean business with the military style triple button wrists on the sleeves. And, with leggings you can never go wrong. Right?

I love the rain, especially when you can snuggle up and just relax with some hot tea…or coffee for you coffee lovers. That’s how the day was going for me until it came time to take the kids for their piano lessons. Time to bundle up and head out with the crew.

Layering is good for days like this. A classic Black wool coat to top off the layers… Perfect! It’s stylish (as we must always be) and will keep you nice and warm :o)

Black Night…

Wearing: Arden B leather jacket, F21 jeans and top, Jessica Simpson boots

Yesterday was definately not a sandal day. It was freezing! Certainly an opportunity to take advantage of the cold weather styles I love (sometimes).

Studs are a major trend that returns every year. This jacket is an example of a classic piece that can be worn winter after winter. I also love the way it gives that sexy/edgy look. I really enjoy experimenting with different looks and styles!

Everywhere I go I get stopped about this jacket. It’s one of my favorite wardrobe pieces.

Stay Positive :)

Every time I think I’m having a bad day something like a ladybug flying in your car happens.:) Instantly better. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Mustard/Catch up!

Hope everyone had a spectacular thanksgiving! I spent the entire day eating, sleeping and watching movies. I have so much to be thankful for and my beauty rest and relaxation is high on the list next to God and my family of course.

I love the thought of a long coat with nothing underneath; kinda like you’re wearing it as a dress.  Hey, sexy isn’t just for summer! And winter is also a great time to create a pallet of beautiful rich colors to give that wardrobe just the right boost…  Mustard is a beautiful color for winter and fall. Be daring and pair with a color no one would have imagined…:)

My First Blog!

Hello to all of my beautiful friends out there in fashion world! I welcome you all, to my very first blog!  For my blog debut, I thought I’d start off with a big bang! My birthday recently passed and to celebrate another year, I had a birthday-bash dinner. For party favors we all wore jeweled ring pops (!).  The rings were a delicious eye catcher that made it easy to recognize my party divas as we mingled the social scene at Boa Restaurant in Hollywood. Candy bling! Who would have thought…

I’d really like to thank all of my beautiful friends for showing up.  Thank you friends!! These girls were gorgeous and ready to show me love! Many more showed than I even expected and I was delighted to celebrate with all who attended. There were twice as many people at the party than I had anticipated. I was wowed by the presence of so many friends and family as they arrived. The more the merrier! Thank you for being a part of this journey of my passion for fashion. Enjoy!
