Black women fashion drugstore favorites

drugstoreI don’t switch up my beauty products much but I love to try new things. I’m also noticing that your face gets use to the same product if you use it longer than a couple of moths, so I’ll either alternate or try something new that I heard about. When I like anything I love to share it with you guys, so here it is.

My favorite drugstore beauty products:

Invisible solid Secret. I love the smooth texture of this and it goes on clear.

Sally Hanson Nail Polish. I love almost all of their colors, especially the nudes and greys. The application brush makes applying  such an easy task when you don’t have a lot of time.

EOS. I know you all have tried this. My favorite color is the green because I love all things minty.

Clean and Clear Gel is perfect for spot treatments. I use it when I have a minor breakout around my cycle.

Clean and Clear toner is great after you wash your face. It’s so refreshing.

Cetaphil is great for dry skin. Mines get especially dry as the seasons change. Nothing better than soft skin.

I love Burt’s Bees products. This brightening cream leaves my face full of  moisture, while evening out my skin tone. I love 2 in 1 products.

Lastly is my favorite face wash at the moment. It’s like a creamy wash, but it leaves your face feeling refreshed, airy and clean. I feel this product working in my skin. It’s best to use preventative products even when you aren’t breaking out if you have acne prone skin.

Hope you enjoyed my drugstore favorites. Send in your requests. If you have a story or a product you’d like me to feature email me. I’m working on something new so hopefully I get it up and running soon. Have a blessed week.

choices

choices

black women fashionLately my mind can’t stop thinking of why bad things happen to good people. Like my client who is 33, fighting breast cancer and is one of the sweetest people I know.  My little brother that’s going through it with his health, but is one of the  greatest kids ever. He just wants to go to school and live his life at the age of 20.

I’ve had a lot of complicated and tragic things happen in my life. I know as a young girl growing up I’ve made bad choices which has led me to having to suffer the consequences of the not so wise choices I’ve made. I think it’s more  understandable and easier to cope with certain things when you know that you’ve suffered because of your past catching up with you. But an innocent child or someone who has lived life by the book and has made all the right choices, when I see a person like that suffer, I can’t help but to reflect, pray and just try to continue to strive to live my life the right way.

It kinda gives me anxiety when I think about it because you never know what life can deal you. To get though this bad/sad thinking, I redirect my thoughts, focus on God knowing he’s in control and just trusting Him.  I’m not questioning God just reflecting on life.

Always over thinking when I see people hurting. Thought I’d share. black women fashionblack women fashionblack women fashionblack women fashionblack women fashion

just believe

just believe

black women fashion neon skirtWords of advice…

1. No half ass. People can feel it when you do things and don’t give it your all. People never forget how you make them feel. Always make them remember you.

2. Don’t talk about people, especially your friends. When I was younger I had a great friend, but she would do things that I didn’t like and instead of going to her and speaking my mind, I told a mutual friend and it got messy. Long story short I lost the trust on a great person because I didn’t know how to communicate to her instead of someone else. I’m glad it happened because it was a lesson learned. It never happened again.

3. Don’t react out of anger. Sometimes things happen at my place of business, at home or even while out. I’ve learned to take it in and no matter what try to respond with kindness or not at all.

4. Treat others the way you would want your most treasured loved one to be treated. I’m kind anyway. If you ask anyone about me they will tell you the same thing. I have a feisty side that comes out from time to time, I’m not perfect. Overall I strive to keep smiling and when you smile you make others smile. Be kind.

5. Don’t judge others. None of us are perfect. If you are I strive to be like you. This has never been a struggle for me because I’ve been through so many rough times in my life  where I was judged, so I know how it feels. I never judge anyones circumstances, no matter what it is. You are not in their shoes. Don’t judge them.

Hope you’re having a great week. I’ve  had a lot on my mind lately, but I’ll talk about it next time. xoxo

Labor Day Flower Arrangement

Labor Day Flower Arrangement

black women blogs Labor Day Flower ArrangementMy family barbeques every Labor Day. I try to recognize this day and decorate a bit to make our home feel patriotic so we can recognize why we are celebrating. If you’re going to a picnic, a loved ones house or hosting your own thing, this is a perfect centerpiece to jazz up any space. I used a piece of twine that came on a set of place mats I bought. Then I took an old jar that I use for candy and wrapped it around and ended it with a bow. Put the flowers in and it was that easy. Hope you guys have a safe Labor Day Weekend and don’t forget to do something creative, like a Labor Day Flower Arrangement.black women blogs red white and blue 7black women blogs red white and blueblack women blogs red white andblueblack women blogs red white and blue 2Enjoy creating!

denim on denim trendI’ve always loved wearing the “denim on denim trend,” but I really think it’s classic. You can mix it up anyway you like, as long as you have the right fit going, you are set.  I suggest you try it if you already havent already. easy strawberry shortcake

easy strawberry shortcake

fashion blogs for black women easy dessertThis is a easiest dessert you’ll ever make! it really speaks for itself. If you want to take it up a notch, cut up strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle a teaspoon of sugar/splenda and let sit for 3 minutes. It will turn into an incredible syrup. I chose the simple route this time. fashion blogs for black women black and white 4I’ve been looking for a sleeveless button down crispy white tuxedo shirt for a while now and couldn’t find the perfect one. So I got a pair of scissors and cut off the sleeves of this one. It’s actually perfect. I ended up finding one afterwards of course, but this one is special because I made it. Have you guys ever took scissors to your clothing to create something you’ve been looking for? inspiredI’m normally not your hat girl, but it was something about this Ted Baker hat that inspired me. I didn’t plan on wearing it with this outfit in particular, but it somehow made it so much more fun. I also never would have worn this two piece set because I’m a bit shy, but hey life is about taking some risks right. You have to just jump in sometimes without even thinking about it. That makes life so much more fun, trust me. Oh and did I mention I colored my hair.  Hope you guys had a great weekend! xoxoinspiredinspiredinspiredinspiredWearing: Aqua Top, Aqua Skirt, Manolo Blahnik Pumps (alternative here, here, here), Ted Baker Fedora.
