Sometimes I want to  sell all I own and move someplace new. I just want to be  a free spirit and live life simple, although I can do that where I live if I really wanted to it’s just something about starting over and having a fresh start.

Starting over can be done in several aspects of life. You can want to change the way you are to be a better person, you may want to mend a relationship with an old friend or maybe you just need a fresh start. Start over with a clean slate. You can start over like new anytime you’d like in the eyes of the Lord, it’s just about sticking to it and making a conscious effort to be a better person. Like new! I’m a firm believer in giving second chances, sometimes third chances, furthermore we have to be willing to not give up on people or life so easily. You never know you can be an inspiration, a brand new start in life.:)

I’ve visited Hawaii at least once (excluding last year) a year for the past 10 years. I don’t know what it is, but Hawaii holds a special place in my heart. The people there are kind, pleasant, patient and modest. They express everything they do with pleasantness and modesty. My friends and family persistently ask me, why not visit somewhere new. I’ve been other places but there’s nothing like the joy I feel when I’m in Hawaii. 

I can’t stop  thinking of the individuals in Japan.  Everyone speaks of the Japanese culture as sticking together in hard times so I know God will see them through. It seems like they don’t worry about material items to make them feel whole, instead they focus on family and health. They are still smiling through it all.

My goal is to live life a little more care-free. I tend to set new goals for myself sporadically.:)

Tip of the day: Unity is to be expressed with harmony…

Crab cake benedict is one of my favorite meals for breakfast. I originally tasted this spectacular dish when I stayed at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.  They are still voted #1 for this dish in my book, but this one was next best.

Has anyone ever seen a grey ladybug before? This was my first time. When we set this little bugger free he camped outside until the morning and proceeded right back in. 🙂

Hawaii

As you know I love wearing heels and it doesn’t stop when I travel. I always dress in between the weather of where I’m coming from and where I’m going. In these pics I paired a cool stripped top with  kaki shorts and wedges.  If you decide to wear heels to the airport make sure to carry a pair of flats in your bag just in case your feet get tired.

Later that night after a great dinner with my family, we sat on our hotel  balcony looking at the beautiful view of the ocean sipping on coffee. Sirens started alarming in our hotel. A tsunami waring! Panic came over me and I started to pray. We didn’t know what to do, but after I prayed, I felt at ease and knew it was in God’s hands. The hotel also reassured everyone that we were in the safest place (the higher the better), so we sat on the 29th floor looking out the window hoping that no one would get hurt. Sunrise came and still no sign of mother nature’s unexpected destruction, it seemed that the waves missed our island, we headed inside to watch the news and was saddened by the tragic events that took place.

I’m still sick to my stomach to know how fast things can change and how many lives were lost in Japan. My heart goes out to all the people who lost their loved ones. I’m again reflecting on how fragile life is. In the blink of an eye you could be gone. We have to live life, but in the right manner. The main aspect of life should be love.

I get emails at least twice a week on advice about relationships. I don’t feel like I’m a relationship expert by far, but what I can say is, why stay in an unhappy relationship? Some women are housewives and have no choice in the matter due to no job in addition no where to go seeing that the husband is the sole provider. In most cases like this, when the kids turn eighteen the parents get divorced because they stayed together for their family, (even though I still don’t agree with this I see the logic) but personally I couldn’t do it.  If you have no kids along with being independent then you are at an advantage and really shouldn’t deal with anyone’s crap. 

The more I read the more I find myself sometimes wanting to shake these women along with telling them to wake up. I also want to give them a hug and tell them “believe in yourself and  you deserve better!” A man can make you feel really insecure and it happens to the best of humans, but he doesn’t have to know this little secret. When he acts up, address it, then he might act right for a couple of days, maybe weeks and a lot of times he ends up going  right back to the way things were before (the disappointments) and you are miserable all over again. Before you know it you are on an emotional roller coaster wanting to eat ice cream all day wondering where the 10lbs came from:). 

The key to getting through this rough patch is make sure to pray for strength in addition to staying busy. Do your own thing. Get dressed up and hit the town or you can  sit at a friends house acting like you are out having fun. Some men have to feel challenged. He is your man and you should know him better than anyone else right? Let him sweat and miss you for a change. Also let him know that if he doesn’t change you are removing yourself from the situation and sometimes it can be the best thing for you. God has so much in store for you so stop being so afraid and just let  him/her go and have faith in yourself… whatever it is that’s making you so unhappy is very toxic on the body, so you have to let go! Believe that God will make another way. He always comes through for me what makes you any different?

Tip of the day: Make sure he is worthy of you…

This week was the best week I’ve had in a very long time. I ‘m finding myself appreciating the smaller things in life in thought more and more everyday. I cherish the people around me that allow me to be myself which allows me to grow into whatever God has planned for me, even if mistakes are made in the process. Prayer changes things in our lives and with the right people around to pick us up when we fall life couldn’t be any better.

The really amazing part of my life is God’s grace! He has extended his grace on my family and I can’t praise him enough. God gives us all grace, it just takes adversity to notice sometimes.

Tip of the day: “You friendship with God will develop when you learn to desire his friendship more than anything else”…

Skin care regimen:

• Aveeno clear complexion foaming cleanser (feels like butter also great for removing make-up)
• A scrub (any scrub will work) from my dermatologist that I use twice a week only in the evenings (leaves face red)
• Bleaching lotion on my spots at night right before bedtime (Ambi)
• La Mer cream, then sunscreen (every morning)
• Vaseline (I use this under my eyes every night)
• Before I go out on the town I let an egg white dry on my face to tighten up my pores (Tina’s secret)
• Sonya Darker mask (twice a week after the scrub, also great to dab on a pimple to dry it out)

Mornings: Aveeno, Le Mer, Sunscreen.

Nights:  Aveeno on the days I don’t use the scrub followed by the mask. Bleaching lotion on spots when needed. Vaseline under your eyes every night.

I’ve always had sensitive skin so I have to be careful of what I use on my face. These products help my skin stay clear most of the time. Hope you like them as well.

Just wanted to take the time to let my sweet faithful readers know I would love to fulfill everyone’s request, but there just isn’t enough time in the day.  One should never take advantage of a situation that will cause another to be at a disadvantage.  For example, when a cashier gives you too much change, you might think you’re getting away with the goods, but did you ever stop to think that the clerk will end up getting the missing balance taken out of their check! Sounds like a small infraction but a lot of people do it in their day to day lives and may not be aware or simply don’t realize the consequences it will cause.

 Another more general example is when someone is nice, a really genuine person who takes the time to do something nice and their kindness is taken for weakness. When you do that you are really putting yourself on the line.  You really don’t want to end up on the evil side of karma because the situation can always turn around and you will be the one that is  taken advantage of. The worst part is it can happen to you at the most inopportune time. Treat others the way you want your most treasured friends and family to be treated.  Treat them like you would want to be treated. Respect others kindness.

 I am proud to say that my daughter got an A on her test in school recently.  She only missed one answer. I taught her to always review her test when she gets it back and after reviewing this one she noticed she actually missed two answers instead of one. She immediately told the teacher and points were deducted but she told me her conscience felt better. What a blessing! If there were more people in this world with a conscience…the world would be a better place don’t ya think!;)

Tip of the day: Recognize when there’s an opportunity for you to grow!

Where I live wearing heels everyday is very normal. I get plenty of e-mails from my readers asking me how do I dress up everyday and manage to walk around in heels? The reality is I dress up every chance (meeting with clients, lunch date, errands) I get which is 2-3 times a week. I’m always on my feet at work so I wear flats the majority of the time. 

I’m such a girlie girl so I’ve always loved dressing up. When I had my second daughter and  got married, I lost myself. I didn’t even want to get out of bed sometimes or get out of sweats for the entire week. My husband and I came up with a date night. It was something I would look forward to, so eventually I found myself again. I decided ever since, I’d get dressed up for no apparent reason because that’s what I like. The days I’m all “girlie” up I take pics for you guys, my clients as well as my friends to refer to. My site gives them ideas for when they are about to hit the town. Enjoy…

I’m so use to wearing bright colors in California to accompany our beautiful weather all year round that I can easily forget it’s winter. What I mean is I will wear bright pink in the winter which is acceptable if you incorporate it with winter colors only using  hot pink as a pop of color. I know I’m always saying do what you want and make your own rules when it comes to fashion, but I want us to practice proper fashion etiquette from time to time:). For example if you’re wearing a pair of denim jeans and a tank you can brighten it up with a bright cardigan. Another example for what to wear in warm whether in the winter is a beautiful sun dress in colors like navy, green or nude. Try and save the colorful dresses (hot pink, orange) for spring/summer. 

It’s been sunny in Cali so I had to catch myself a couple of time. It’s only since I’ve become a stylist that I’m more aware, otherwise I wouldn’t care. I’m a strong believer in practicing what I preach so I can’t tell my clients what to execute and I’m doing the opposite. In these pics I paired a colorful top with high-waist navy slacks, in addition I threw on bright shoes for fun. I still look appropriate for winter however, still stayed cool in the beautiful California weather.
