restart

At any moment we can hit the restart button in our lives. Every morning we wake up with new mercies and new grace from God. Even though things may not be perfect or going your way you have the control to hit the restart button.
It’s a new week and it’s getting ready to be a new month, change something in your life now that you need to. You can start by changing your surroundings. Maybe can change your living room around, change your comforter/bedding, or even change the subject of your conversation, let something or someone go.
Focus on yourself and rebuilding a new or even better you. No procrastination, make that change today…

having balance keeps me going

Spent the past two weeks with my family doing anything their heart desired. We watched movies, went to the beach, went zip lining, to a carnival, Universal Studios and Hurricane Harbor. I have a couple more things I’d like to do with them before the summer is over so they’re excited.
This summer was the first time I have ever went out of the country and left my kids for two weeks. I am super mom and do everything with them. They are the loves of my life. I want them to experience life with me always, but they knew mommy finally needed a break. Now I’m back and ready to take on new changes in my life.

playing in make-up

Make-up is so much fun. I recently started experimenting more with it. I still have no idea what I’m doing as you can tell, but from far away it looks pretty good. Bronzer and mascara are some the few I can’t live without. What’s your go to make-up for a casual day? Feel free to share your beauty secrets so I can try them. xoxo

San Francisco photo diary

Where my favorite chocolate is made.

The San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge was just as special to see as the Eiffel Tower. I had so much fun exploring. This is defiantly a trip you should plan and take your loved ones on. This place is amazing.

After we drove across the bridge we stopped by Salito’s. This is the most romantic place to have lunch! I felt that every moment I was there was perfect. All the food was so good and the drinks topped it off! Service was perfection. You guys have to try this place. How can I forget the view. It was right on the water with all the windows open. My kinda spot.

Skinny Margarita.

Then we drove over to Oakland where they had the best Italian Deli called Genova. Everything was so fresh and delicious as long as you don’t mind waiting thirty minutes. Well worth the wait! Their sun-dried tomatoes are to die for. I also got some to go.

On the drive home.
Hope you enjoyed my photo diary. See you soon.
I didn’t take many pics in Ghana but I’ll share what I have with you next week.

birds of a feather flock together

I basically decided to take a mini 5 day vacation to San Francisco to recoup from my previous vacation. Trying to relax and enjoy these last couple weeks of summer. Hopefully you guys are having a great weekend. xoxo

just a distant memory
My cousin Erica is an amazing writer. I wish I could have her translate my thoughts when I’m having writers block. The other day we were discussing how weird people can be. How they want to keep you in a box to make themselves feel superior. How they like you if you can do what they want or “follow their rules,” but once you stand up for yourself or no longer conform to what they want it’s a problem and they start to speak ill of you. The first step on getting away from these type people is to first value yourself. That way no one can make you start to believe the things that are being said or make you feel bad about yourself. Second, kindly stay away. Although it may hurt, it’s that simple. Keep it moving.
Here’s what she wrote. It’s so profound I had to share.
A few things I’ve learned about HONESTY…
Don’t expect it. Some just aren’t capable.
Some will base their opinions of you on hearsay. Let em…
Determine what’s real from what’s perceived. Don’t base your acceptance of “the truth” (or lack thereof) on someone else’s perception of YOUR reality.
Some will twist the truth for personal gain. Some do it to feel superior, play the victim, to mask their insecurities, and/or advance in some way. If they’ve done it to others, they’ll do it to you.
What others say about you/do to you has nothing to do with you. Don’t take it personal pray for them all, and move on.

Tunic Dress
Wore this outfit the last day I was in Paris. I explored, got macaroons, ate breakfast somewhere random and got to be free. Next year God willing I want to take off for an entire month and travel. I did that for the month of July but took a week break in between. Traveling does something to you, especially me since I can just talk and mange to fit in no matter where I go. I just feel different. My smile just seemed to come from a deeper place and nothing or no one could break my spirit. I didn’t feel like I needed anything but what was in my suitcase and I also felt like I could just keep going and wear the same things over and over again. It came to a point though where I wanted to come home. Most times I take my brother on a vacation in the summer and he was unable to go due to unforeseen circumstances, so I thought about him a lot. Other than that I just tried to be in the moment and realize I deserve to do something I love. I deserved it.
Deep down inside I know that God has so many plans for my life, It’s just hard to see it sometimes. He sends people out of the blue to bless me and I just look up and thank HIM. Even those that don’t like me end up having no choice but to bless me because God has my back and knows what I deserve and need. No matter what you are going through, you can have no money in the bank, you can be sick, just keep going. Dream big and have vision for your life and never make anyone feel smaller than you because you may have it a bit better than they do. Put on that smile no matter what, believe in yourself and great things are bound to come. Pinky promise, and I’m a woman of my word. xoxo

The pictures aren’t that clear because my camera was acting crazy that day. I’ll probably do this look again though cause I loved it.

wedding attire

Went to my friend’s wedding this past Sunday and this is what I wore. I’ve been getting emails on what to wear so I thought I’d share. Bright colors work great in the summer and if you have a tan completion.

back at it

There is something about a lightweight trench that keeps me wanting to wear it. I found the perfect army green shade here and it’s perfect for those summer evening when you want to dress up a simple pair of shorts as I did here.
I’ve been in such a laid back mood since being home from my vacation. I need to put a pep in my step. I feel too relaxed and need to get back into work mode. Does this ever happen to you guys. What do you do to get back on track when you’re feeling unfocused.

Lido

If you happen to visit Paris I highly recommend you see a Lido Show. It was so amazing and sexy. I was amazed to see all the beautiful women dancing around topless, confident yet still sophisticated and classy. Take your girls or your man. You won’t regret it. We stayed on Avenue des Champs-Elysées which the main spot where everything is. Hope you enjoy my blurry pics as I was having too much fun. xoxo

BVLGARI HOTEL LONDON

Bvlgari Hotel & Restaurant in their London Hotel is amazing. The decor is exceptional. I wanted to try them because they are famous for their cocktails. Their service was amazing and the food was great. Only thing I’d say is don’t go there too hungry because everything is served in small potions, so it’s more like a light dinner/drinks kinds night. Definitely visiting again. Have any of you been there?
