you are something special

you are something special

black women fashion words that will make you smile

Free compliments for all of you…

You are beautiful, smart, intelligent, diligent, strong, resilient, powerful and sexy.
You have the most beautiful hair, eyes and your soul is felt from your spirit, which is warm and kind towards others. You strive to be better and I see that in you.  It may seem hopeless at times, but with all those qualities, you are destined for greatness. Lastly, ALWAYS remember you are loved!

Keep pushing forward with a smile and your life will always be great no matter what challenges you face. Encourage someone today. It feels good and it’s free;).

Tip of the day: “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soup and health to the bones”

thankful for the little things…

thankful for the little things…

black women fashion - thankful for the little thingsToday is my official birthday and I can’t help but be thankful for all the well wishes and for the great people who God has placed in my life. I thank Him for my business, my blog and all of my amazing followers to allow me to pursue my passion and taking this journey with me. I’m thankful for my husband, kids and my little bros health. I just wanted to share with you what I’ve learned in 2014. When people aren’t happy they take it out on you and no matter what you have to strive to be kind to them. I’ve learned that I can do anything I want as long as I practice balance and make time for me and my family. Lastly I’ve learned more than ever to just be a loyal person even when others are not.  Someone is always watching your every move and to take things to the next level, people are gonna have to first trust you.

Moving forward I’m setting new goals for myself. I want to focus more on building my character, because I want to be an example to everyone around me.

Hops you guys have an awesome day! God bless you!

coat season

coat season

fashion blogs for black womenYou guys would be surprised to know that I have an obsession with coats. I barely get to wear them because of the weather in Cali (mostly gets cold at night) so I layer. As soon as the forecast mentions it’ll be 70 degrees or less expect to see me in one of my many coats.fashion blogs for black womenfashion blogs for black womenfashion blogs for black womenfashion blogs for black womenfashion blogs for black womenWearing: Free People Coat, Zara Dress, Jessica Simpson Tights (I wore mines backwards), Guiseppe Zanotti Bootie.

Fall lookbook 2014

Fall lookbook 2014

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GR5uinChL-o
I decided to make a video lookbook so I can show you in a nutshell how I mix and match my fashion choices. I made a mini collection right out of my closet. Some pieces are new, but I try to wear my older items as much as possible so they won’t  feel neglected. That is the key to remixing your outfits, you’ll never run out anything to wear and the item can look completely different with one minor adjustment. Hope you guys like it. Email me if you want to see more or if there is anything else you’d like to see and I’ll try my best to create it. Have a great week!

black women fashionLet me introduce you to my statement tights. They can take a plain outfit to edgy/chic in seconds. I always treat myself to a new pair yearly as I don’t wear them that much, but when I want to take things up a notch, I throw them on. I can’t live without my…

I can’t live without my…

black women fashion1. Almond Oil. When I get out of the tub while my skin is still damp I put this on.

2. Hair clip from Nordstrom. Very durable for those days when I’m on the go and have to pin my hair up.

3. Essie Nail Polishes. I love so many. Take your pic (here, here and here).

4. Bath Salts. After a hard day of work, a bubble bath with salts do the trick. I use this glass vase to store it and a (Chanel) ribbon makes everything better right?

5. Bobby Brown Bronzer. I wear this every day. I lightly brush it all over my face.

6. StriVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Night Treatment. We all need something to repair our skin from all the pollution in the world. This does the trick for me.

7. Perfume. Loving this Chanel Fragrance at the moment. I have a winter scent that I’ll share with you guys next month.

8. Lip Gloss. I love any lip gloss that tingles and has a minty feel. This Moxie by Bare Minerals gloss is one of my favs.

Hope you enjoyed!
