DIY Manicure

I’m over false nails at the moment and gel mani’s are starting to make my nails thin. I started to get a manicure every week, but then my polish would chip after 2-3 days and that would annoy me. It may be date night or I might just get tired of looking at my nails chipped up. I get my pedicure faithfully every two weeks so what’s a girl to do in between time? I’m also a working girl and sometimes I can get off late and that doesn’t always allow to me to stop by the nail salon.
So, I just decided to buy everything I need and do my mani’s myself. I’ve never been more satisfied. Of course I love to get pampered but I feel like when I do my nails, it comes out just as good because I have all the tools. I have mastered the perfect manicure!
First file your nails and soak in soap and water.
Next put cuticle softener on, push cuticle back and cut cuticle and hang nails. Try to do minimal.
Buff nails until smooth. Oil your cuticle then wipe your nail bed with polish remover to make sure you have a clean surface.
Apply Nail Tek first. This will keep your nails stong and make them stronger.
Apply 2 coats of your favorite polish. My current favorite at the moment is borrowed & blue by Essie.
Lastly I use my favorite top coat by Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. It dries your nails quick, makes your nails shiny and locks the color in place. I always need a strong top coat, since I tend to go for chalky colors that are more difficult to dry. I go back in with a nail polish remover stick to clean up my edges (this is the best thing ever) and we are all done!
Enjoy!

As Spring approaches and Cali is basically hot at any given moment, I thought I’d share with you how I’m transitioning my winter wardrobe into spring. I always mix colors all year round, but booties are perfect being that they are a fall/winter shoe. I paired it with this peach dress for this 82*degree day. Next I’ll try a sweater with shorts. Stay tuned…

my love of flowers

I’ve decided to buy fresh flowers for my home once a week not only because they are beautiful, they make our house smell really good! Flowers make a great addition to any space in your home. Smell is also one of the most powerful scent that triggers memories. I love it when people ask me what’s that smell when they visit. For instance my husband always buys me white Casa Blanca Lilies (I can spot their smell anywhere) and they leave our house perfumed with their scent for days. I decided to share with you how easy it is to create beauty in the smallest things. These roses were $10 for a dozen and I bought all three of these vases from a thrift store for $5. When I walk in my home the sight of them instantly brightens my day. Which one of us couldn’t use a mood lift… Enjoy!

new day
simply happy

Valentine’s Day is a really corny day but for some reason this day is special to me. I use to make a big fuss about it, but the truth is it’s been more enjoyable when my husband and I show small gestures of love to one another.
My husband overheard me talking to a friend saying that I wanted to purchase flowers for the entire house. I enjoy making flower arrangements rather than to receive them. When I got home my husband surprised me with 6 bouquets of flowers! He knew I’ve been busy with my brother’s birthday and working so I didn’t have time. It was so relaxing for me to create a beautiful touch to each room of my home. It was also thoughtful of him to consider doing something to put a smile on my face. Anyways I’m corny. Just wanted to share my boring life which I happen to love.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and fantastic Valentine’s Day filled with simple thoughts of love.

Hope you enjoyed. They aren’t perfect but they’re me:).

Show appreciation for all that is difficult, challenging, and enjoyable. There are blessings in every step of your journey.
Practice patience. Pray Specifically, then give your wants, needs and desires to God.
Be confident. God needs no checklists or reminders. Whatever is meant for you, is already yours. If it’s meant to be…it will be. If it’s not God has something much better in store. Whatever God intends for your life, will manifest.
Tip of the day: BELIEVE!
