it’s ok just dont’ give them prime real estate…
Today I want to talk about not letting things that are not important occupy space in your valuable brain. Sometimes we can have the greatest day and one little thing will set our energy off. The crazy part about it is, it’s something that really has no significance in our life if you really think about it. We have to always redirect our thoughts towards positive things. This is the only way things will go your way. Power of the mind.

let’s motivate one another
As I’ve said before I get a lot of emails from my readers asking what they can do to stay toned and what I do. I came up with a cool idea for all of us to motivate each other and come here once a week to share new workouts or anything you want. This will be like a place to report to so we can make sure we all stay on track. If you’d like to join, leave your name (if you leave a fake name be sure to use that every time so we know your progress) and just say I’m in. Everyone can talk to each other through the comment section. We can begin today to change our lifestyle and be aware of what we put in our mouths, not just to feel great about ourselves, but for our health. I’ll put up two exercises a week so we won’t get bored. If you can, take two classes a week and work out 45 min at home the 3rd day.
Me personally, I workout 2-3 times a week. I try (everyday it’s a struggle not to eat that cookie) to watch what I eat everyday. Here are some options on what I eat everyday. You can follow it or you can come up with your own and share it with us.
- Breakfast: Raw oatmeal with a little honey and cinnamon with berries on the side, or a bowl of Special K. If you need something more solid you can eat egg whites, turkey bacon, and a slice of wheat toast. Tea would be best to drink if you can’t do water with your food like me.
- Lunch: Since I’ve been working out, I’ve found these salads that are between 230-280 calories and they get me pretty full. If not I’ll make my own salad with spinach, raisins, avocado, feta cheese and a chicken breast.
- Dinner: This is the hardest part of my day. My family doesn’t want to eat like me. They want real food. I try to eat what I want but just a small portion. I cook a lot so I don’t want to deprive myself of shrimp fried rice if everyone else is eating it, but I try to practice control and I try not to eat after 7pm. If I get hungry I’ll drink green tea, or I’ll have 4 dark chocolate covered almonds.
Snacks: You can have one snack between each meal. I sometimes eat a 100 calorie pack because it’s more convenient. A granola bar or trail mix or almonds are a great snack as well. Good luck with everything. Let’s get started!
I’m doing a plank. You have to suck your core in and hold while breathing in an out for 30 sec. This works your abs hard. Do 3 sets for me please.
Get yourself a ball. They are $9.99 at Marshalls. You have to do 4 sets of 25 crunches on the ball. Make sure to keep your core tight always. And again don’t forget to breath in and out. When holding your core in we sometimes hold out breathe.

Tip of the day: Mind over matter. Don’t give up when you feel like it’s getting tough!

don’t set appointments…then you won’t be dissapointed
#workout #risktaker
I’ve been getting lots of e-mails about what I do to stay fit. The most frequent questions are what I eat and my workout routine. Truth is I’ve gained 7 lbs over the summer and it’s time to get rid of it. I’ve dropped off but, I’ve been back on for three weeks now. My time only permits me to work out 2-3 times a week.I’m also trying to be more aware of what I put in my mouth. As I get better I’ll share more with you.
I was thinking my readers and I can meet here once a week to share our goals, new ideas, recipes and progress. I find it better for me to stay focused when I have a trainer because I need someone to push me. I figured we can all push each other and whomever has the most inspiring and successful story will win a giveaway once a month. Just a thought. E-mail me any questions or ideas you my want to add. Now I’m off to work out. Have a great day…

my food is a hit in this house!

I made this up when I got bored making the same thing and I must say it tasted pretty good.
Chicken Wraps:
Take boneless skinless chicken breast and clean (I use vinegar then rinse thoroughly).
Next slice chicken breast in half so they can be thinner. Then you have to take a cooking hammer and flatten the chicken even more. Next you season with garlic (I use the minced garlic in the jar) lemon pepper, dried onions, and kosher salt.
Next it’s time to layer. I put green onions (you may use spinach, or parsley it’s your choice) and shavings of mozzarella cheese.
Wrap the chicken like a wrap and make sure to roll tight. Stick a toothpick or skewer stick through.
Mix butter and olive oil in pan and sear on high heat. After the outside is browned cover and turn to low and let the wraps simmer so they can cook all the way through. After about 7-10 minutes add 4 tablespoons of water to the pan and leave for about a minute then start to based the chicken with the natural gravy for about 5 minutes off and on and there you have it! I served with a fresh salad and rice. Majormusthaves Chicken Wraps!

I hope that ALL my visitors have a great and productive day!

I think they seriously need a life…….
I’ve had this dress for a while and was saving it for my Hawaii trip, but yesterday I decided to wear it. I fell in love with all the detailing and the outstanding colors and to top it all of it was so comfortable. I ended up spending the entire Sunday in this dress. I had brunch, did some shopping and just enjoyed life.

My oldest daughter was in every sport from tennis to softball and she never stuck with it. Every time she came to me and said mom I want to try something else I never told her “I don’t think you should do that because you’re not going to like it and you never stick with anything.” I tried never to discourage her. I wanted her to find something that she loved even if it took her a lifetime. We eventually discovered that she’s a great artist and that’s her thing. My youngest daughter on the other hand will do anything and everything because she just wants to stay active. Everyone is different.
I’m saying this to say that you can be 20, 30, or even 50, you should never give up on your dreams or be afraid to try something new. Even if you come up with a new idea every other month, find your passion and stick with it and don’t let anyone ever discourage you. I also encourage you to tell others around you how proud you are of them. Even if they tell you something crazy tell them that sounds awesome. Anything is possible. Who cares if we fail at least our intentions were good, we tried and now it’s on to the next chapter. You’ll never know if you would have succeeded at something if you never tried out of fear of others opinions.

fall hair products
As the seasons change I always alternate my hair products, my make-up and of course my clothing. I’m a creature of habit so I mostly revert back to the same things yearly. Here are some new and old products that I love that keep me smiling.
- Vasaline Coco butter deep Conditioning. Love this products because it keeps my skin soft with a mild smell. If your skin is darker my dermatologist said it’s better for your skin when you use a product with shea butter in it. I use both.
- Bed Head TIGI Urban anti`dotes. This product leaves my hair full of moisturize and keep it soft. The conditioner make my hair easy to comb out in the shower. Did I ever mention that it’s a must you comb your hair through with conditioner before you blow-dry. If your stylist isn’t doing so…find a new one. This step smoothes your cuticle in order for less tearing.
- Acne -Free oil free purifying cleanser. I have oily skin so if I’m not careful my face will break out. I love this stuff. I only use it twice a week because it’s a scrub and it would be to harsh on your skin to use it everyday.
- TIGI Bed Head Stick. When my hair is complete, I rub a tooth brush (strictly for hair:) across the top of the wax stick. I put this on my edges so if I sweat a little my edges will stay tamed.
- Silky Wrap Scarf. Ladies we must protect our hair at night always! Even when your hair isn’t done always sleep with a silk wrap on your hair to protect your edges. This one by Silky wraps is my absolute favorite. I put on in the tub, at the pool in the shower it’s just a great item. That reminds me, I have to order my daughter a bonnet.

I will live my life for me…
Decisions
Everyone around you will have a opinion about the decisions you make no matter how great you try to be or how mindful you are of the things you do. This is why you have to just live your life for you always, not anyone else, know that you have a good heart, trust in God and everything always ends up great!

keep ya head up!
I’ve been reading this book called the Magic and I don’t know if it’s just me, but this book has taught me a lot. It’s everything that I strive to practice in my life, but sometimes life gets the best of me.
Every night you have to write down 5 things you are thankful for and you will receive more. I’ve done it for the past couple nights and I’ve seen things go my way when they seemed like they weren’t. I’m a positive person anyway so that’s partly why no matter what’s going on in my life I always smile, but sometimes I forget to be thankful for all the blessings around me especially my family and health…the things money can never buy.
Tip of the day: Forgive those that try to hurt you. This is the only way to get peace in your heart so you can stay positive and thankful!

friend turned copy-kat turned snake
I’m back to business, the kids are back in school and I’m off my vacation of relaxing and not replying to e-mails. If there’s anything you’d like to see more of, feel free to send me your request and I’ll try my best to do it if it’s within reason.
Now let’s get to the fall must haves. This is my personal list so it may not be for everyone, but if you follow my blog then that means you like the style choices I make.
Leather Pants. This is a trend, but I think that it will repeat itself and if not you can always save this investment piece to pass down to someone in your family. Can we just say you’ll look like a rock star!
Leather Jacket. Now I have a problem with jackets…I have way to many, but as I make it a point more and more to get classic pieces, this jacket in the pic is perfect. It has the perfect amount of detailing and I got a size bigger to layer over plaid shirts as well as roll up the sleeves.
Dark Denim Skinny Jeans. I’m sure everyone has a pair already.
T- Shirts. T-shirts are an easier way to simplify your life! I need that so bad considering I love to wear heels everywhere I go if possible, so what greater way than to throw on those jeans, a t-shirt some heels and roll. Simple yet fly.
Cashmere Scarf. I prefer you invest in one of these eventually because when it’s cold out this scarf will warm you up and it fits in the clutch.
Camouflage Coat. Easy way to jazz up a dress, jeans, or a skirt with tights.
Pointy Toe Heels. This is something I thought I’d hate but I’m in love. One of my anonymous readers kept telling me to change up my silhouette and I thank him/her. I had to get pass always showing my toes.
Hope you enjoyed. Have a great day everone.

Trust yourself…
This is a great outfit that transitions into fall. I’ve been strategically collecting my fall pieces so I can do more mixing and matching and less buying. This coat is another piece you can add to your fall wardrobe. It can dressed up or down. Hope everyone is having a great week…

God help me appreciate everything, every second of my life.
So lately I’ve been programming myself to live in today, stop chasing tomorrow and always wanting more. Sometimes when you’re pursuing more you miss out on today. I just want to be thankful for everything I have and appreciate every moment.
