trust should already be in the room
As you all know I love writing, sharing my thoughts, experiences, other people’s stories and putting my twist to it. I can’t get away from it! No matter how hard I say I’ll just focus on fashion alone, something keeps tugging at my soul to write and share my thoughts with you. I mean that is the main reason my site has grown, from my perspective on life.
So here’s my thought of the day: Why is it that we are afraid to do things, take risk and move forward in life when we know in our hearts that it will be to our benefit. Is it because we are comfortable where we are or maybe we scared of what others may think, whatever it is, it might be the very thing that’s holding you back from greatness. I believe most of us are destined for greatness. I sometimes dream of things I’d like to do then I don’t take the proper steps to execute when I know the idea alone is awesome. It all boils down to the fear that what we believe in so deeply, might not be perceived the same by others and of course failure.
It also takes a small team to help you with this process of trying to pursue your dream, you just have to take the first step. I was watching Sharon Stone on Oprah’s life class and she said something that stood out to me. “Let life happen.” She went on to say why admired Magic Johnson so much. She said it was because he knew he needed his team to win and he also trusted them. She called it the no look pass and that is what attributed to them winning many championships over time. See we have to love ourself first then learn to be able to trust someone wholeheartedly, and when you do that the other teammate can feel it and you become in sync. Others will know you’re confident and mean business. Once you have that person in your life you’ll be able to move forward without fear and start conquering the game of life.
Tip of the day: Know who you are. Stop trying to prove yourself.

summer “must haves”
Loose comfy dresses are a must for summer. It’s always fun to add in a pop of color.
Denim shorts are my favorite during hot weather. Find a pair you love and stick with them.
Bathing suit cove ups are great for those hot beach days.
Rompers are my personal favorite for summer. Easy.
Two pieces are also great. I prefer to wear these looks I have here to an early dinner.
Lastly, colored denim is my fav! It’s a great look for evening’s or for transitioning into fall.

Lately I’ve been into loose-fitting jeans. I wore this to happy hour at Ruth Chris with my friend. Their food is the best and has surpassed all the other steak houses that I use love. You guys should try it. It’s very reasonably priced from 4-7pm.

travel/what to pack
This is what I normally travel in. It’s humid in Hawaii, Belize ,Bahamas, Miami or anywhere tropical so I try to stay comfy and wear the least amount of clothing as possible. I always travel with a scarf and a good book to read and of course my iPad/pod. Magazines are normally bought at the airport to make sure I have the latest. Heres a couple of pictures for you to get a better idea of the essentials I feel that every girl needs for the perfect tropical vacation.
Maxi dresses work great for an evening dinner with heels or a fitted cotton dress. I like to have options because I never know how I’ll feel so I over pack a bit, but it doesn’t take up too much space because most of the items are light weight.
I always take 3-4 bathing suits with me on every trip. A one piece for sure and we can’t forget a hat! Sunscreen is a must as well along with a cute little beach bag…
These are great for a walk , dinner or lunch. Again all items could be worn dressed up or down. You can even wear the outfit on the left of the way back home, just be sure to have your scarf in your carry-on bag.
Shorts are great to throw on over your one piece for breakfast and a cross body bag is necessary so your arms are free. I also threw this sweater in my beach bag for if I walk into a restaurant to cover up a bit. On vacation you never know how the days might go. You might drive around the island all day, stop at a couple of beaches, dry off put your shorts on with this sweater and you’re set for dinner. Easy living.
I also always pack 1 pair of jeans and a t-shirt for emergency. You never know what can happen, it might be raining on your flight out and you might need to cover up.
These rompers always come in handy. I wear them to lunch or a day of shopping. Dinner with heels with the yellow romper is even an option. It’s about traveling with items that have versatility.
I always take my tennis shoes for a hike or a jog along side the beach. Two pairs of heels, beach shoes and a couple of pairs of flats.

1. Summer MUST HAVE List -the perfect pair of shades
What I look for in a pair of shades are durability, a color that matches my skin tone and shape. I chose to step out the box this time and try blue. It actually worked really well and I think the mirrored framed shades work with just about anyone. I went with these Wildfox shades that I absolutely adore! You guys should check them out (here).
The Designer wildfox has always had great and unique pieces. I especially love most of their bathing suits. They recently expanded their brand to eyewear so I couldn’t wait to check them out. With these particular shades you get a free t-shirt and bag. The heart shaped holder was icing on the cake!

Instead of getting mad at the things that I can’t change or the mistakes that I make, I try to make light of it. Life will be challenging. We have a plan and sometimes they don’t turn out the way we envisioned. But, it’s your job to keep your mind at peace, analyze the situation and take everything as a learning lesson.

For those of you that don’t have a relationship with God, this is for you.
The relationship that I have with God is so amazing! He comes through for me in so many ways. Every time I’m weary or tired he sends someone right in to lift me back up. I talk to Him everyday and tell him my desires, needs and wants. He might not hear them right away, and I won’t say that I never have bad days, but what I can say for sure is He’s managed to let me see the rainbow through all my storms, sends people in my life at the perfect moment and continues to show me that He is real. Just believe and He’ll come through for you too.

This past Friday I attended one of the of the best events I’ve been to in a long time. I ran into old friends that I’ve missed, learned that there are women out there that genuinely want to empower you, and the importance of networking. I would attend a luncheon like this once a month if I could. It helped reinstate the things I need to focus on as a women, business owner and entrepreneur.
I spend a lot of time with my family and really don’t have time for anything else, but I love talking and having deep conversations with woman because let’s face it, men don’t understand us at times. I also love women. I just spend time with the ones who don’t like to gossip about others, compete with me and believe in God and I defiantly can’t deal with a woman who’s temperamental. I’ve also learned that feeling comfortable and being accepted by women you surround yourself with, leads to confidence and peace within. This is why I choose very carefully whom I give my time too and where it’s spent, because I’ve worked too hard on myself so I can’t afford to go backwards. I am finally a woman that is comfortable in her skin.

With swimsuit season in full swing I thought I’d share with you my new favorite coverup. It’s not your typical cover up, it’s cool, long enough to walk around the beach, grab drinks or even snow cones. This jersey from Zara in particular has my heart because it has one of my favorite city’s name on the back. In these pics I was having the best day at the Aulani Disney Resort in Hawaii for my daughter’s birthday. This place is like a water park. We literally didn’t leave the resort not once. I had to remind my baby to breathe and take everything in being that time flies and it is now just all a memory…
