Have you ever almost finished a drawing, almost called a friend to say I miss you, almost had the perfect relationship, almost accomplished your dreams? Today I woke up feeling like almost isn’t good enough and it’s a place where a lot of us get stuck. We all have dreams and things we want to do, but we almost always never finish what we start. How can we expect anything from anyone when we won’t even give ourselves the satisfaction to pursue our own dreams, live our life the way we want to, or even just chase our own happiness no matter the cost.
Whatever it is that gives you light, chase it. If it makes you smile, do it. Want to go somewhere, book the trip. The only thing that stops us from doing anything is failure and I’m over it. I’m not afraid to fail anymore because at least I know I tried to do something to further my happiness and I followed my heart. Besides when you follow your heart even if you fail your still on the right path…
Tip of the day: Do whatever it takes to keep your light shinning.

The Perfect Lemon Drop Martini
Life has been busy so I haven’t had much time to myself, but my friend insisted I come over for dinner and her signature Lemon Drop Martini so how could I resist. I love it when it when your friend knows you have a lot on you plate and goes out of their way to do something nice for you. Especially when they have their own thing going. My Saturday night was perfect. I’ll share what she cooked me next week. See you soon. xoxo
Here’s what you’ll need: Premium Vodka, Limoncello, Lemons, Shaker, Sugar, Two Martini Glasses. (2 servings)
You take 2 shots of your favorite premium Vodka and add 3 shots of Limoncello (1 part Vodka to 1 1/2 parts Limoncello). Juice an entire lemon and add that over ice then shake. Taste it before you serve to see if you need anymore lemon, rub lemon around the rim then dip it in raw sugar and wala! The Perfect Lemon Drop…

This year is already in full effect and I’m determined to stay focused. I’ve already encountered a few minor distractions so I had to get my mind in check, realize that I have so much to be grateful for, and grasp how many positive things I have going.
I came up with a plan to make sure I stay on point.
- listening more and talking less,
- not taking anything personal
- prioritize my thoughts and erase chitter chatter
- most important, focus on the meaningful things and people in my life.
We are all loved first by God. I know I have an incredible life despite the minute trials I face time to time. Plus you guys reminded me that God knows exactly what he’s doing in my life, I just have to focus and not deter my vision with small mined people.

New Year Happier Me
I know I’ve been missing, so I thought I’d have a heart to heart with you guys to let you know what’s been going on. My brother has been sick for the past two years and it took a toll on my spirit. I’m a naturally happy person and I make the best of all my circumstances, but deep down inside, my heart was heavy and the sparkle was gone from my eyes because there was sadness there. I live thirty minutes away from him so I put him in my schedule once a week to sit with him at his treatment. This would be about 7-8 hours with the commute. My daughters would go with me if school was out so we could all keep his spirits up. I also have a family, my own business, my blog and all the activities my daughter is involved in, so I worked really hard to create balance in my life. I didn’t put as much time into the blog and drastically cut back my client schedule to two days a week. This took a toll on me, but God supplied all my needs and enabled me to keep moving. I wasn’t able to update as much as I would have loved to, yet you guys never stopped visiting me. This past year has taught me to especially cherish my loved ones and appreciate those that take and make time to be there for me.
Now on to the good news. My brother got a new surgery that will allow him to live a normal life and I know it was only God that made that happen. I will be taking care of him for the next three months so I’ll try to update as much as I’m able. It happened just before the new year and that only leads me to believe that I have to go full force in 2016. Ultimately I want to focus strictly on my blog and make that my primary job, therefore I will put in the work to fulfill all of your requests because you deserve it; especially all of you who have been there since the beginning! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support, your faithful following and always your words of encouragement. You lift my spirit more than words can express. xoxo
Here are a couple snap shots of the past couple weeks. I canceled my New Years’s Vacation that we were taking him on due to his surgery so I’ve ben bumming it.
